| The Abyss trail leads up beneath Mt Bierstadt and Mt Evans on the south side. It is accessed by driving SW out of Denver on US Highway 285 and taking the Guanella Pass road north for 5 miles. You park just on the other side of the cattle gaurd. |
| This was a short and easy hike done on a Sunday. The temperature was probably around 80 degrees. Unfortunately we were pressed for time and did not make it to the lakes. |
