| Kane Mountain is a .5 mile hike in the foothills of the Adirondak mountains in N.Y.. It can be reached by taking Rt 29A through Caroga Lake, past the Nick Stoner golf course, and taking the first right immediately beyond the bridge separating Green and Canada Lakes. Follow the sign that says "<- parking". |
| On a nice day you can see up to 100 miles from the fire tower. The view is just stunning. Unfortunately, it rained the whole week I was there and there was flooding throughout the entire Northeast U.S.. The visability was roughly a mile. |
| This was the first hike ever for my nieces Jennifer and Amy. I asked what they wanted to do that day, expecting they wouldn't want to hike in the rain, and they wanted to hike. They were also thrilled to ride in a PT Cruiser which I rented. |
