| I've got a hiking review of the abyss trail on my photos page. This outing was supposed to be Geneva Creek, but snow maintenance on the Guanella pass road stopped 1 mile before where I wanted to go. This day Kenosha pass was closed due to ground blizzard conditions. I've heard people say winds were more than 100 mph. I'm not too surprised concidering the winds I encountered. I learned a lot on this outing about lack of planning and not doing the right things to stay warm. |
| I was cold and didn't get off on the right foot. Rocket was post holing and stayed very close as if he smelled another animal that was causing him to act a bit scared. After a while Rocket attempted to heard me back toward the car and I complied with his wishes. I can’t really say that the Abyss trail is a cross country ski trail. Snow shoes would have been better. |
